for the 2009 Polar Bear Plunge
On-line registration cut-off is Friday, February 6 at 4:00pm.
The Polar Bear Plunge is one of the biggest Special Olympics fundraisers of the year. The Plunge is a truly unique event and includes a fun, festive atmosphere with food and great prizes. The Plunge works just like a Walk a Thon, but with one big twist. Participants still solicit donations to support their effort (a BARE minimum of $75 to take part), but instead of walking, Polar Bears take a chilly dip into a pool that will be set up on the plaza at Newport on the Levee.
Last year, the Polar Bear Plunge raised a record $65,000 to support the efforts of Special Olympics athletes in Kentucky and Ohio.

As an added bonus, Bar Louie will provide free appetizers to those who pre-register (must be over 21 for appetizers, while supplies are available)!
