WHEN and WHERE is the event?
Saturday, October 1st at UPS Worldport - 911 Grade Lane, Louisville, KY 40213. Captain Check-In opens at 9 AM and opening ceremonies begin at 10 AM.
What is the UPS Plane Pull?
The Plane Pull is an opportunity for companies, families, friends, etc. to have a fun day while raising money for Special Olympics Kentucky athletes. Teams of 20 will pull a UPS Boeing 757 cargo plane 12 feet at UPS Worldport!
Who can be on my team?
ANYONE who is 8 years or older! You can become a team captain and recruit 19 other people.! You can form a men's team, women's team or co-ed team. Co-ed teams must have at least 8 women on the team.
How many people can be on a team?
20 people max! You can pull with fewer than 20. However, your team must still raise the minimum of $1,500 to participate. If you have less than 20 on event day, you can ask athletes to help pull for your team!
What makes a team CO-ED?
A minimum of 8 women is required for the team to be considered CO-ED?
How much money does my team need to raise?
Each team must raise a minimum of $1,500 to participate.
What can I bring to the event?
Your ID, gloves, closed toe shoes (sandals/flips flips/bare feet are NOT ALLOWED), sunscreen, hats, signs, cash and your loud cheering voice! NO coolers or pets. This is a smoke-free event.
Since the event is at UPS, everyone must go through a scanner at the guard shack before entering. If you can’t bring it on a plane, it will not be allowed at the event.
Can spectators come to the Plane Pull?
YES! Spectators are allowed. We encourage you to invite your friends and family to watch your team compete and then enjoy the new and improved Family Fun Zone!
Who should checks be written to?
Please make checks out to Special Olympics Kentucky. In the memo, please add UPS Plane Pull, participant’s name or team name.
If I receive cash or check, can I add it to my online total?
Please mail or drop off ALL cash and check donations to Special Olympics Kentucky, 1230 Liberty Bank Lane, Suite 140, Louisville, KY 40222. SOKY will add cash and checks to your individual or team page once received.
Can I check-in early?
Check-in will be available on Thursday, September 29 at the Louisville SOKY office—1230 Liberty Bank Lane, Suite 140 for Captain's only, by appointment. Teams must check in to recieve their wristbands and t-shirts.
