On February 22nd (the day after my 25th birthday!) I will take the polar plunge at Texas Roadhouse Middletown to support over 10,000 athletes in Kentucky.

Yes - Special Olympics Kentucky is my employer but it's also a great organization that provides 15 different year-round sports programming, athlete leadership training, health screenings, health programming, and teaches students the value of inclusion through the Unified Champion School program. There are so many great institutional aspects of SOKY but nothing quite beats the athletes I work for and with as well as my dedicated and inspiring co-workers. The experience I have had in just the 6 months I've worked for SOKY has shown me the impact we can have right here in our own state; and doing it in such a fun and wacky way like raising money to jump in a freezing cold pool with more than 500 of our closest friends seems perfect to me.
