I have committed to jump into icy cold water for the Louisville Polar plunge to show my support for over 13,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities in Kentucky.
I'll take the plunge as a part of MCM's Numb 'n Numb-er team, a four-time #1 corporate fundraising team. We've had over 30 jumpers on our team every year for over 10 years. Last year, our team raised the most we have ever raised! Over $22,000!!! COVID may have affected our jump format, but it didn't affect our passion of fundraising for Special Olympics KY! This year, we look forward to plunging together once again!
It's true…we’re a little bonkers, but it’s also for a great cause! All donations to our team will go to Special Olympics Kentucky to provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through sports, Special Olympics athletes build confidence, self-esteem, and develop skills they can take off the field and into their everyday lives. Special Olympics athletes are 50% more likely to be employed than people with intellectual disabilities who don't participate in these life-changing programs.
Every $25 we raise helps provide a season of athletic competition for one Special Olympics athlete. Your donation helps push us in the frigid water and creates a world in which all people with intellectual disabilities have a chance to be accepted and respected in their communities.
Your donation will not only help me reach my goal but will also help SOKY do more for more athletes each year.
