WHEN and WHERE is the event?
Saturday, October 18th at BrightSpring Health Services - 805 N Whittington Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40222. Captain Check-In opens at 9 AM and opening ceremonies begin at 10 AM.
What is the Louisville Truck Pull?
The Truck Pull is an opportunity for companies, families, friends, etc. to have a fun day while raising money for Special Olympics Kentucky athletes. Teams of 15 will pull a UPS 18 wheeler Truck 12 feet to see which team can pull it the quickest!
Who can be on my team?
ANYONE who is 8 years or older! You can become a team captain and recruit 14 other people! You can form a men's team, women's team or co-ed team. Co-ed teams must have at least 6 women on the team.
How many people can be on a team?
15 people max! You can pull with fewer than 15. However, your team must still raise the minimum of $1,500 to participate. If you have less than 15 on event day, you can ask athletes to help pull for your team!
What makes a team CO-ED?
A minimum of 6 women is required for the team to be considered CO-ED
How much money does my team need to raise?
Each team must raise a minimum of $1,500 to participate.
What can I bring to the event?
Your ID, gloves, closed toe shoes (sandals/flips flips/bare feet are NOT ALLOWED), sunscreen, hats, signs, cash and your loud cheering voice! NO coolers or pets. This is a smoke-free event.
Can spectators come to the Truck Pull?
YES! Spectators are allowed. We encourage you to invite your friends and family to watch your team compete and then enjoy the new and improved Family Fun Zone!
Who should checks be written to?
Please make checks out to Special Olympics Kentucky. In the memo, please add Louisville Truck Pull, participant’s name or team name.
If I receive cash or check, can I add it to my online total?
Please mail or drop off ALL cash and check donations to Special Olympics Kentucky, 1230 S Hurstbourne Parkway, Suite 100, Louisville, KY 40222. SOKY will add cash and checks to your individual or team page once received.
Can I check-in early?
Check-in will be available on Thursday,October 16th at the Louisville SOKY office—1230 S Hurstbourne Parkway, Suite 100 for Captain's only, by appointment. Teams must check in to recieve their wristbands and t-shirts.
Are awards given out?
Yes, awards and bragging rights will be handed out to the winners of the following categories:
- Fastest Pull: Men’s, Women’s and Co-ed
- Top Fundraising Team
- Top Individual Fundraiser
- Top SOKY Athlete Fundraiser
- Team Spirit
- Best Team Costume
- Best Team T-Shirt
