K of C Salute to Summer Games Information
The Knights of Columbus were among the first organizations to support Special Olympics and Knights were at the very first Special Olympics Games in Chicago in 1968. Since that time, the Knights have been among our most committed Champions. And that has held true throughout Special Olympics's history in Kentucky. Knights have provided both volunteer and financial support for our athletes at events from the State Summer Games to the Polar Plunge.
When COVID-19 forced us to cancel the 2020 State Summer Games for the first time in our history, we reached out to our supporters to help us both celebrate the Summer Games and secure an uncertain financial future. The Knights were there for us again, leading all fundraisers.
This year Knights of Columbus from across the state are continuing what began last year. Through the Knights of Columbus Salute to Summer Games, the Knights will be helping to provide the resources needed to hold our "bounce back" State Summer Games on June 5 at Eastern Kentucky University.
